Tolls in Sweden: Everything you need to know

Select another country and learn all about its tolls and road charges

In Sweden, the toll for the use of its road network is charged to freight vehicles from 12t onwards. The country has joined Luxembourg and Netherlands in organizing the process and collection of the fee through AGES. The Eurovignette does not include the payment of bridges, such as the Oresund (Malmö-Copenhagen), whose payment can be made with the VRIO Plus device.

If you are going to travel to Sweden, you must bear in mind that the acquisition of the vignette for the toll must be made prior to entering the country. In no case will it be valid retroactively.

First of all, we recommend checking the device to ensure:

  • If it is correctly configured (license plate, axles, weight).
  • If the network of the country that issued the fine is activated
  • If there is no error on the screen or any red light appears.

It is also advisable to check with the driver if the device had any errors that were not notified, or if the device was disconnected from the vehicle’s power supply.

In addition to the above, you can verify the consumption of the device during that date to check if the journey has been recorded correctly and the fine has been issued in error.

In Vrio we offer a professional fine management service specializing in the analysis and appeal of this type of toll fines. We take care of the whole process on your behalf keeping you on the road.
