I have received a fine despite having an active toll device in the vehicle, what do I do?
First of all, we recommend checking the device to ensure:
- If it is correctly configured (license plate, axles, weight).
- If the network of the country that issued the fine is activated.
- If there is no error on the screen or any red light appears.
It is also advisable to check with the driver if the device had any errors that were not notified, or if the device was disconnected from the vehicle’s power supply.
In addition to the above, you can verify the consumption of the device during that date to check if the journey has been recorded correctly and the fine has been issued in error.
In Vrio we offer a professional fine management service specializing in the analysis and appeal of this type of toll fines. We take care of the whole process on your behalf keeping you on the road.
What do I do if I have a toll Collect OBU and the German toll network activated at the same time on another device?
The German authorities establish that it is the responsibility of the driver/transport company to use the device correctly. Carrying in the same vehicle two active devices for the payment of the toll of the same country can lead to a double charge.
To avoid this, here are some tips and recommendations:
- Remove the Toll Collect OBU in an official authorized workshop before entering German territory, and keep the network active on a multi-country device.
- Configure the OBU Toll Collect to prepaid directly from the device: Menu > Collect Mode > Switch from “Automatic” to “Manual”, and keep the network active on a multi-country device.
- Request the deactivation of the German network on your multi-country device, and keep the Toll Collect OBU connected.
In the case that your Toll Collect OBU is removed by an official workshop partner, you must re-request the activation of the German network on your multi-country device.
