In Denmark, the highway toll for the use of its roads is charged to goods transport vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of greater than 12t. The country has joined Luxembourg, Sweden and Netherlands Netherlands to organize the process and collect the fee through AGES. The Eurovignette does not include the payment of bridges, such as the Storebaelt, where payment can be made with the VRIO Plus toll device.

If you are going to travel to Denmark, you must take into account that the acquisition of the vignette for the toll must be made prior to entering the country. In no case will it be valid retrospectively.

Starting from January 1, 2025, Denmark will replace the Eurovignette with a mileage-based road tax for heavy vehicles.

Tolls in Denmark apply to driving on most of the state road network and parts of the municipal road network (a total of approximately 10,900 km). The Danish government’s intention is for the toll to apply to the entire Danish public road network starting from January 1, 2028 (approximately 75,000 km).

TOLL CHARGES
Trucks will have to pay the toll in Denmark based on their weight, the distance traveled, and the amount of CO2 they emit. If driving through some of the low-emission zones in Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Odense, Aarhus, and Aalborg, the fee to be paid will be higher.

Do I need physical proof that I have purchased a Vignette?

No, the vignette is registered electronically: a receipt is not necessary.

In case you want a physical receipt, you must print or download it right at the end of the purchase process. Once the entire process is completed, it is not possible to obtain a receipt retrospectively.

Is it possible to cancel a Vignette which has already been purchased?

It is not possible to cancel a vignette already purchased. In case of errors, it is necessary to purchase a new one with the correct data.

How many Eurovignettes can I purchase?

There are no limitations on the number of Eurovignettes that you can purchase but It is only possible to reserve up to 10 Eurovignettes at once.

What are the main international transit routes in Denmark?

I have received a fine despite having an active toll device in the vehicle, what do I do?

First of all, we recommend checking the device to ensure:

If it is correctly configured (license plate, axles, weight).
If the network of the country that issued the fine is activated
If there is no error on the screen or any red light appears.

It is also advisable to check with the driver if the device had any errors that were not notified, or if the device was disconnected from the vehicle’s power supply.
