Tolls in Romania: Travel across Europe non-stop with Vrio’s comprehensive end-to-end toll payment solutions
Romania has a network of national roads and approximately 800 km of motorways, the use of which is subject to toll charges.
For light vehicles, buses and coaches, the electronic rovinieta is used. This is a road-use charge that allows vehicles to use toll roads for a specified period of time.
For goods vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes, TollRo has been introduced, a new electronic distance-based tolling system in Romania that replaces the rovinieta for this vehicle category. Although the use of electronic tolling devices has been postponed, hauliers can declare their route and manage payments through the eToll portal.
