data-contrast=\"auto\">During this\u00a0current\u00a0year,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">a new regulation\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">has been introduced in France\u00a0regarding\u00a0the transit of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">all types of vehicles with four or more wheels<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0at\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">specific\u00a0zones\u00a0in the French mountains<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span through these snowy and icy roads.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"3\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Avoiding\u00a0traffic congestion in these areas, which could arise due to driving without the necessary equipment or due to the accidents\u00a0caused by it.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_does_this_new_regulation_entail_for_which_period_of_time_and_which_areas_are_affected\"><\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What does this new regulation entail, for which\u00a0period of time\u00a0and which areas are affected?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter data-contrast=\"auto\">st<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0of November until 31<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">st<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0of March each year), it will be compulsory to carry snow chains\/socks\u00a0or winter tyres in\u00a0your vehicle when driving in the following areas: Alps, Corsica, Massif Central, Jura Massif,\u00a0Pyrenees,\u00a0and Vosges Massif.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Are_the_following_areas_signposted\"><\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Are the\u00a0following\u00a0areas\u00a0signposted?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Yes, the affected areas have a new traffic sign\u00a0at both the entrance and\u00a0the\u00a0exit, indicating\u00a0to\u00a0drivers\u00a0that\u00a0having the proper equipment is compulsory for transits through these areas.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img do I need if I am\u00a0to drive in one of the affected areas?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You should have one of the following materials on board of your vehicle:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"4\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Removable anti-skid devices: you can choose between metal chains or textile chains\/snow socks.\u00a0As a minimum, at least two\u00a0need to be\u00a0fitted to the drive wheels.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"4\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Winter tyres: with the selection of \u00a83PMSF\u00a8 (3 Peak Mountain Snowflake) which can differ by the presence of an alpine symbol\u00a0or\u00a0one of the following markings:\u00a0M+S \/ MS \/ M&amp;S.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Vehicles with studded tyres would be exempt from this obligation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10611\" src=\"https:\/\/vrioeurope.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/senal-mountain-snow-flake.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"268\" height=\"114\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT: The use of other winter tires will remain possible until 1st\u00a0of November 2024<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0 however,\u00a0vehicles will still need to be fitted with chains.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Different options available, depending on the type of vehicle.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cars and light commercial vehicles.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"5\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Having two removable anti-skid devices.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"5\"
